Comité de maximisation des retombées économiques de Mines Gaspé - Business directory

Companies in the Côte-de-Gaspé and Haute-Gaspésie areas are invited to register in the directory, which will be used as a reference by Métaux Osisko for its contracts (by mutual agreement or otherwise).

Project overview

This committee will ensure that the exploration project brings tangible benefits to the region. It will help strengthen ties between the community and the company.

It's a tool to keep the economic spin-offs in your area.

Objectives

  • Help Métaux Osisko identify local companies capable of meeting its needs.
  • Let companies know which contracts will be available, and advise them on how to obtain them.
  • Identify the mining project's workforce needs, and direct regional employment and training partners to meet them.

What is maximizing economic benefits?

It's a process that connects a client with local suppliers. The aim is to ensure that as many contracts as possible are awarded to local companies. This helps support the local economy and create jobs.

The Committee DOES NOT:

X The committee does not award contracts;

X The committee does not set policies for awarding contracts;

X The Committee does not intervene in Métaux Osisko's choices;

X The Committee does not oversee Métaux Osisko;

X The committee does not discuss environmental impact and monitoring.

The project is still in the exploration phase. It has not yet been confirmed or authorized by government authorities.

If Osisko obtains the necessary approvals and decrees, the company expects to make a final investment decision around 2029.

If the project goes ahead, construction of the mine could take place around 2031. No recruitment is planned before then.
